It has been a few months since I have spent time going through my family trees - All I can say is that either people just add blindly to their trees by copying other family trees without sources or some are just doing this deliberately and messing everything up. There are photos of my family attached to other people with different names - my mom being one of them. I looked at their sources and they are just wrong.
I contacted one gal - and told her that what she added about my grandfather was wrong. I gave her the correct information and asked her kindly if you would correct it because other people are adding the wrong information to their trees.
She read it. Never wrote back and it's been 2 weeks and no change. Her profile says she is on every day.
This hobby has turned into a passion with me. It's silly I know, but just this has caused me distress.
I need to get all my information off ancestry and just be done with it - my subscription runs out in April. I've had it since 2006 and it's like leaving a long-time relationship. I am sad.
Maybe I am overreacting which I have been known to do at times - but that is how I feel at this time. I get all these hints and they are wrong. Nothing new is coming up. It makes me feel all mixed up - like I don't know what is correct or not when it comes to the 2nd grands - unless I look at the censuses.
Why do people mess up a good thing?
