I pay a monthly fee to use Ancestry.com. I went over to Family Search and noticed my tree there is all screwed up. Someone has taken it upon themselves to change information about my own Grandma on my Dad's side. WTH? Not just her but many family members' information has been altered and changed.
It is hard to figure out how to change/edit it. I realize that LDS is in charge of all the Genealogy projects but I am in charge of my own damn family. and while I am grateful for them to be able to find out so much about my family -let's not change the FACTS that I know are true because I am the Granddaughter. I know. Why would they do this?
I am not LDS. So I do highly resent, changing the information on my family tree. I don't want these changes to confuse my family later down the line when I am no longer here. We all know how confusing it is when you are at first looking for your descendants - I have been working on my tree since 2006 just so my children will not have to do all of this.
I am slightly OCD so anyone else might just leave it as is and move on - I am bothered by it. I have to fix this somehow.
I am sure I will be posting more on this issue in the future.
I wonder why they changed it. I am not LDS either, but I have heard they are very careful with details.
ReplyDeleteYes they are but this Family Search anyone can change it. They probably changed it because they believe what they entered is right. I have the bible notations that I go by.
